What is Lip Blushing?

Lip blushing is a permanent makeup technique that implants pigment into your lips to create natural, even color. The pigment is applied in layers to match or enhance your natural lip tone. The result lasts 1 to 3 years depending on your skin type, lifestyle and aftercare.

This is cosmetic tattooing, also called micropigmentation. It gives you the look of a soft lip tint or stain without daily makeup.

How Lip Blushing Works

We apply a topical numbing cream before the session. Most clients describe the sensation as light pressure or mild scratching. The appointment involves mapping your lip line, choosing your shade and implanting the pigment with precision.

In the first few days your lips may look darker or more intense. This is normal. As your skin heals over 7 to 14 days, the color softens and settles into its true shade. Avoid picking, sweating heavily or getting the area wet while you heal.

Other Lip Permanent Makeup Options

KRIDO offers three techniques for lips, each with a different finish:

• Lip Blush: a soft, natural wash of color that enhances your lip tone. $497.
• Ombré Lips: color concentrated in the center, fading toward the edges for a dimensional look. $497.
• Full Lipstick Look: bold, saturated color across the entire lip. $597.

If your natural lip tone needs balancing (for example, darkness from smoking or hyperpigmentation), Amber may recommend neutralization first. That adds one or more sessions to your plan. Your final quote and session plan are confirmed at the consultation.

Why Choose Permanent Makeup for Lips?

You skip the daily reapplication. Your color stays even through meals, workouts and swimming. Permanent makeup can also define the lip line, add symmetry and restore color lost to age or scarring.

Other ways to add lip color include:

• Lipstick or lip gloss: temporary, reapplied throughout the day.
• Lip fillers: injectable hyaluronic acid that adds volume. Talk to a medical provider about fillers. KRIDO does not offer injectables.
• Lip tattoos (traditional): use ink and a tattoo machine. Permanent makeup uses cosmetic pigment designed for the face, which fades more naturally.

What to Expect at KRIDO Wellness

We start with a consultation. Amber Polacek, our permanent makeup expert, assesses your natural lip shape, tone and skin. She maps your ideal lip line and chooses the technique and shade with you. Final quote, including your touch-up plan, at the consultation.

Most clients need one main session and one touch-up 5 to 6 weeks later. In some cases a neutralization is needed first, so one or more extra touch-up sessions may be required. Amber confirms your session plan at the consultation.

You must be 18 or older for permanent makeup. If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, have active skin infections, uncontrolled diabetes or cardiovascular conditions, permanent makeup may not be suitable. We review your health history at the consultation.

Preparing for Your Appointment

Avoid alcohol, blood thinners like aspirin or fish oil, and excessive sun exposure for at least 48 hours before your appointment. Come with a clean face. Bring a reference photo if you have a specific look in mind.

How Long Results Last

Lip blushing typically lasts 1 to 3 years. How long depends on your skin type, lifestyle and aftercare. Annual refreshers are recommended to keep the color vibrant. The pigment is semi-permanent, so it fades gradually rather than disappearing all at once.

Booking Your Consultation

Permanent makeup appointments require a $100 non-refundable deposit, applied to your treatment. The deposit can be moved once with 48 hours notice. Late changes within 48 hours or no-shows forfeit the deposit.
