Microdermabrasion Before and After: What to Expect

Microdermabrasion gently exfoliates dead surface skin to reveal brighter, smoother texture. Results are immediate but temporary, and build with regular visits.

What Microdermabrasion Does

Microdermabrasion is mechanical exfoliation that removes the outer layer of dead skin cells. Many clients notice smoother texture and brighter tone right after the treatment. The results are mild and temporary, which is why many people return every few weeks to keep the improvement going.

It does not remove deep scars, wrinkles or pigmentation. It refreshes the surface.

Before and After: What to Notice

Most people see a subtle glow and softer skin immediately. Your complexion looks clearer and makeup goes on more smoothly. The change is gentle, not dramatic.

With regular sessions every four to six weeks, the effects can build. Pores may look smaller, and rough patches from sun damage or dryness may improve over time.

How KRIDO Does Microdermabrasion Facials

Every microdermabrasion facial at KRIDO Wellness is built on the Circadia professional skincare line and finished with red light therapy and lymphatic drainage massage. Red light therapy may support collagen, based on small studies. Lymphatic drainage can temporarily reduce puffiness.

The treatment itself gently buffs away dead cells. Your esthetician customizes the Circadia mask and serums to your skin type and goals. The session is relaxing, with zero downtime.

You start with a skin consultation. We read your skin, then do the microdermabrasion facial. Your first visit starts with a consultation where we look at your goals and build your plan. You pay for the facial.

What to Expect at Your Visit

Your visit takes place at IMAGE Studios in downtown St. Petersburg. The entrance is on 7th St N. Take the elevator to the 2nd floor, turn right and walk to suites 220 and 221. Free three-hour parking is right out front.

Your esthetician will review your skin history, talk through your concerns and perform the microdermabrasion facial. Each of our estheticians has 30 years of esthetics experience. You leave with personalized tips to maintain your results at home.

For optimal skin health, most clients return every four to six weeks, which aligns with the skin’s natural renewal cycle.

Microdermabrasion Compared to Dermaplaning

Both remove dead surface skin. Microdermabrasion uses mechanical exfoliation (a controlled buffing). Dermaplaning uses a blade to remove cells and fine hair. Dermaplaning delivers an instant smooth finish and allows makeup to glide on evenly. Hair does not grow back thicker or darker.

Both offer immediate glow and smooth texture with no downtime. Your esthetician can help you decide which suits your skin and goals.

Who It Helps

Microdermabrasion is ideal if you want to improve skin texture, tone and overall glow. It works for most skin types and helps with dullness, rough patches and minor unevenness.

It is not the right choice for active acne, rosacea flare-ups, open wounds or very sensitive skin. Your esthetician will assess your skin at the consultation and recommend the best treatment.

For deeper texture concerns like acne scars or fine lines, microneedling is a stronger option. Microneedling stimulates collagen through controlled micro-injury. It takes several sessions spaced weeks apart, and the evidence is strongest for acne scars.

Real Client Results

I had the absolute best experience at Krido Wellness!! I went in for a dermaplane and from the moment I walked in, I was welcomed with open arms. I sat down with the owner, Kristina and she took the time to discuss my current skincare routine, what I’m struggling with and my goals. You could tell she really has such a passion for what she does and after learning more about her story, it was clear that her mission is to help people look and feel their best. The spa itself is very clean, professional, and has a calming atmosphere so you can truly relax. My aesthetician Amber was incredible!! She is so knowledgable and friendly and was so thorough with my treatment. She wasn’t pushing products on me, she just really wanted me to have the best possible experience. I literally couldn’t believe my skin afterward - had to do a double take in the mirror lol it was GLOWING, rejuvenated and felt amazing.

Frequently asked questions

How soon do you see results from microdermabrasion?

Many clients notice smoother texture and brighter tone right after the treatment. The change is gentle and temporary. With regular sessions every four to six weeks, the effects build over time.

Does microdermabrasion hurt?

No. Most people find it comfortable and relaxing. You feel a gentle buffing sensation as the device exfoliates dead surface cells. There is no pain and no downtime.

How is microdermabrasion different from a regular facial?

Microdermabrasion uses mechanical exfoliation to remove dead skin cells. A regular facial may include cleansing, masks and massage but not the same level of physical exfoliation. At KRIDO, every microdermabrasion facial includes red light therapy and lymphatic drainage.

Can microdermabrasion remove acne scars?

It smooths surface texture but does not remove deep acne scars. For atrophic acne scars, microneedling is a stronger option with better evidence. Your esthetician will assess your skin at the consultation and recommend the best treatment.

How often should you get microdermabrasion?

For optimal skin health, most clients return every four to six weeks. This aligns with the skin’s natural renewal cycle. Your esthetician will recommend a schedule based on your skin goals and condition.
