Microneedling for Fine Lines in St. Petersburg, FL

Microneedling stimulates collagen through controlled micro-injury. Evidence is moderate for fine lines and texture, and results build over a series of sessions.

Microneedling Stimulates Collagen to Smooth Fine Lines

Microneedling uses tiny, controlled micro-injuries to trigger your skin’s natural repair response. This response stimulates collagen and elastin production at the cellular level, which over time can smooth fine lines, improve texture and build skin resilience. Systematic reviews of randomized trials support microneedling for atrophic acne scars, with moderate evidence for fine lines, texture and stretch marks.

Results develop gradually. With a series of treatments spaced weeks apart, many clients notice smoother, firmer, more even-looking skin with improved tone and radiance.

What Causes Fine Lines and What Options Exist

Fine lines form as collagen and elastin in the skin naturally decline with age, sun exposure and repeated facial expressions. Smoking, dehydration and genetics also play a role. Sun damage accelerates the breakdown of collagen and thickens the outer layer of skin, making lines more visible.

Your options include:

  • Microneedling: stimulates collagen through controlled micro-injury, supported by systematic reviews for scars and moderate evidence for fine lines. Typically requires several sessions.
  • Retinoids: vitamin A derivatives that increase cell turnover and collagen production. Well-supported by research. Available over the counter (retinol) or prescription (tretinoin). Results build over months. Can cause dryness and irritation.
  • Chemical peels: remove the outer layers of skin to reveal smoother skin underneath. Depth varies from superficial to deep. Downtime and results depend on peel strength. Talk to a medical provider or licensed esthetician.
  • Laser resurfacing: ablative or non-ablative lasers remove or heat skin layers to stimulate collagen. Effective but can require downtime. Talk to a medical provider.
  • Injectables: Botox relaxes muscles to soften expression lines; dermal fillers plump lines caused by volume loss. Results are temporary. Talk to a medical provider.
  • Consistent skincare: daily sunscreen, gentle cleansing, and hydration support skin health and slow visible aging.

No treatment erases all fine lines, and results vary. Microneedling suits people who want to stimulate their own collagen without injectables and with minimal downtime.

How KRIDO Approaches Microneedling for Fine Lines

KRIDO’s microneedling facial is a results-driven treatment designed to target fine lines, acne scars, enlarged pores, uneven texture and discoloration. The treatment uses controlled micro-channels in the skin to trigger your natural collagen and elastin production.

Every microneedling facial at KRIDO also includes red light therapy and lymphatic drainage massage. Small studies suggest red light therapy may support collagen density. Lymphatic drainage can temporarily reduce puffiness, and many clients find it relaxing.

KRIDO works exclusively with Circadia professional skincare, a line designed around the skin’s natural day and night rhythm.

What to Expect at Your Microneedling Visit

Your first visit starts with a skin consultation. We read your skin, discuss your concerns and goals, and confirm that microneedling is the right fit. The consultation is included; you pay for the facial.

During the treatment, your esthetician uses a microneedling device to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin. This stimulates your body’s natural healing response and collagen production. The session is followed by red light therapy and lymphatic drainage massage.

With a series of treatments, results often continue to build. Your esthetician will recommend a treatment plan based on your skin goals and condition.

Downtime is usually minimal, though your skin may be red for a day or so after treatment. Most people go back to their day right away, with gentle skincare while the skin settles.

I had the absolute best experience at Krido Wellness!! I went in for a dermaplane and from the moment I walked in, I was welcomed with open arms. I sat down with the owner, Kristina and she took the time to discuss my current skincare routine, what I’m struggling with and my goals. You could tell she really has such a passion for what she does and after learning more about her story, it was clear that her mission is to help people look and feel their best. The spa itself is very clean, professional, and has a calming atmosphere so you can truly relax. My aesthetician Amber was incredible!! She is so knowledgable and friendly and was so thorough with my treatment. She wasn’t pushing products on me, she just really wanted me to have the best possible experience. I literally couldn’t believe my skin afterward - had to do a double take in the mirror lol it was GLOWING, rejuvenated and felt amazing.

How Many Sessions and How Much It Costs

Microneedling facial at KRIDO is $300 per session. It typically takes several sessions spaced weeks apart to see your best results. Your esthetician will build a personalized plan at your consultation based on your skin and goals.

For optimal skin health, KRIDO generally recommends a facial every 4 to 6 weeks, which aligns with the skin’s natural renewal cycle. Microneedling sessions themselves are spaced several weeks apart so the skin can recover.

Individual results vary. Results depend on treatment area, number of sessions and individual response.

Microneedling and Hyperpigmentation

Microneedling is also used to address hyperpigmentation and uneven skin tone. Evidence for pigmentation is more limited than for scars, and results vary. It is sometimes combined with brightening serums.

If hyperpigmentation is your primary concern, your esthetician will assess your skin at the consultation and recommend the best treatment plan, which may include microneedling, a vitamin infusion facial or other Circadia facials designed to brighten and even tone.

Frequently asked questions

Does microneedling hurt?

Most clients find microneedling comfortable. You may feel a light prickling sensation during the treatment, but it is generally well tolerated. Your esthetician will explain what to expect at your consultation and make sure you feel at ease throughout the session.

How long does it take to see results from microneedling?

Results develop gradually as your skin produces new collagen and elastin. Many clients notice smoother texture and improved tone within a few weeks. With a series of treatments, many clients notice results continue to build over time.

Can I wear makeup after microneedling?

Your skin may be slightly red immediately after the treatment, similar to a mild sunburn. Your esthetician will give you aftercare guidance at your visit. In general, it is best to let your skin breathe for the first 24 hours and avoid heavy makeup or active ingredients until your skin has fully settled.

Is microneedling safe for all skin types?

Microneedling is generally safe for most skin types when performed by a trained esthetician. Your consultation includes a full skin assessment to confirm that microneedling is right for you and to address any health history or skin concerns before treatment.

What is the difference between microneedling and dermaplaning?

Microneedling uses controlled micro-injuries to stimulate collagen production and improve fine lines, texture and scars over time. Dermaplaning is a gentle exfoliation that removes dead skin cells and fine vellus hair to instantly smooth texture and enhance product absorption. Both are available at KRIDO and can be used together or separately depending on your goals.
