Brow Lamination Steps: What to Expect at Your Appointment
Brow lamination reshapes your natural brow hairs for a fuller, lifted, polished look that lasts 6 to 8 weeks. Here’s what happens at your appointment.
What Happens During Brow Lamination?
Brow lamination is a treatment that restructures your natural brow hairs to create a fuller, more lifted, polished shape. The process uses a series of solutions applied to your brows, much like a perm for your hair. It takes about an hour and involves several carefully timed steps.
If your brows are unruly, sparse, uneven, or grow downward, lamination helps them appear more defined and symmetrical. Results typically last 6 to 8 weeks, with no daily pencil or gel needed.
The Brow Lamination Steps
Each step works to lift, set and define your natural brow hairs.
1. Consultation and Mapping
Your appointment begins with a conversation about the shape you want. Amber, our brow artist, looks at your natural growth pattern, your face shape, and the fullness you’re after. She maps the brow shape with a pencil so you can see the plan before anything is applied.
If you have sensitive skin, a history of reactions, or questions about how lamination works with your skin type, this is the time to discuss it. Brow lamination is not recommended if you have active skin infections, open wounds, or irritation in the brow area.
2. Cleansing
Your brows are cleansed to remove any makeup, oil or residue. This step ensures the lamination solutions work evenly.
3. Lifting Solution
A gentle lifting solution is brushed onto your brow hairs and they are combed upward and into the desired shape. The solution softens the hair structure so the hairs can be reshaped. It sits on the brows for several minutes, timed precisely for your hair type and texture.
4. Setting Solution
The lifting solution is removed and a setting solution is applied. This locks the new shape in place. Your brows are combed again to ensure every hair is where it should be. The setting solution sits for a few more minutes.
5. Nourishing Treatment
Once the setting solution is removed, a nourishing treatment or conditioning serum is applied to moisturize the hairs and calm the skin. This step is there to care for your brows after the chemical process.
6. Waxing and Shaping
Any stray hairs outside the mapped shape are removed by waxing. Waxing removes hair from the root for a clean, even shape.
7. Tinting (Optional)
If you’ve chosen a tint, a custom shade is applied to enhance the color and definition of your brows. The tint makes your brows look fuller without daily makeup. It’s matched to your natural hair and skin tone and sits for a few minutes before being removed.
Tinting is included in the Brow Lamination, Wax & Tint service at KRIDO. You can also choose lamination without tint if you prefer your natural color.

What Brow Lamination Feels Like
Brow lamination is gentle and designed for comfort. You may feel a slight tingling from the solutions, but it should not be painful. If you feel burning or significant discomfort, let your brow artist know right away.
You lie back for most of the process. The steps are quiet and methodical. Many clients find it relaxing.
How Long Does It Take?
A full brow lamination appointment, including mapping, the solution steps, waxing and tinting, takes about an hour.
How Long Do Results Last?
Results typically last 6 to 8 weeks, depending on your natural hair growth cycle and how well you follow aftercare. Your brows stay shaped and lifted during that time. After 6 to 8 weeks, your hairs return to their natural growth pattern and you can rebook if you want to keep the look.
If you choose a wax and tint without lamination, the results last 3 to 4 weeks.

Who Should Not Get Brow Lamination
Brow lamination uses chemical solutions similar to a perm. It is not recommended if you have:
- Active skin infections, open wounds, or irritation in the brow area
- A history of allergic reactions to perming or relaxing solutions
- Very dry, brittle or over-processed brow hairs
You must be 18 or older to book. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, or have a medical condition that affects your skin, the team reviews your health history at the consultation.
What to Expect After Your Appointment
Your brows will look darker and more defined right after lamination, especially if you added a tint. The color softens slightly over the first day or two. Many clients notice fuller, more lifted, more even-looking brows.
You’ll receive aftercare instructions. Proper aftercare helps your results last the full 6 to 8 weeks.
