Nano Brows Healing Process: What to Expect Week by Week

Nano brows typically heal over 7 to 14 days, moving through several predictable stages. Here’s what to expect at each phase, and how to support the best possible result.

How Nano Brows Heal: A Week-by-Week Timeline

Nano brows heal over 7 to 14 days. During that time, the pigment settles into its true shade, and your skin completes its natural repair process. The color will look darker in the first few days, then soften as healing progresses.

The nano brows healing process is similar to other forms of permanent makeup, but the fine, hair-like strokes require careful attention during aftercare. Picking at flaking skin or getting the area wet too early can affect how evenly the pigment retains.

What Nano Brows Are

Nano brows are a form of permanent makeup that uses a machine with a single needle to create ultra-fine, hair-like strokes. The technique mimics natural brow hairs and produces a soft, realistic look. It is one of three brow options at KRIDO Wellness. The other two are powder/ombré brows (a soft, shaded effect) and combo brows (strokes at the front, shading at the tail).

Nano brows suit clients who want defined, natural-looking brows without daily makeup. Like all permanent makeup, pigment is placed in the upper layers of skin and typically lasts 1 to 3 years, depending on skin type, lifestyle and aftercare.

Week One: Fresh Pigment and Initial Healing

Days 1 to 3

The treated area will appear slightly darker or more intense than the final result. This is normal. The pigment sits on the surface of the skin as it begins to heal. Your brows may feel tender, and you may notice slight redness around the strokes.

Avoid getting the area wet. Do not apply makeup, lotions or serums to the brows. Sweating heavily, swimming, saunas and steam rooms are off-limits during this stage.

Days 4 to 7

The skin begins to flake. You may see small patches of color peel away. Do not pick or scratch. Let the skin shed on its own. Picking disrupts pigment retention and can lead to uneven healing.

The color will start to soften during this phase. Some clients feel the brows look patchy or too light. This is temporary. The pigment is settling into the skin.

Week Two: Color Settling

Days 8 to 14

Flaking completes, and the true color emerges. The brows will look softer and more natural than they did immediately after the procedure. If any strokes appear lighter or missing, your touch-up appointment (scheduled 5 to 6 weeks later) allows Amber to refine the shape and fill in areas where pigment did not fully retain.

You can resume normal activities, including exercise and water exposure. The skin is healed, but the pigment continues to mature over the next few weeks.

Why the Touch-Up Matters

Most clients need one main session and one touch-up. The touch-up, scheduled 5 to 6 weeks after the initial appointment, allows the specialist to assess how the pigment retained, adjust the shape if needed, and ensure even color throughout. Nano brows require precision, and the touch-up is part of achieving a polished, natural result.

In some cases, a neutralization session is needed before the main procedure, or additional touch-ups may be required. Amber, KRIDO’s permanent makeup expert, confirms the full session plan and final quote at your consultation.

What to Avoid During Healing

During the 7 to 14-day healing window, avoid:

  • Water on the brows (showers, face washing, swimming)
  • Sweating heavily (gym, hot yoga, outdoor runs)
  • Picking or scratching the treated area
  • Makeup, lotions, serums or oils on the brows
  • Direct sun exposure or tanning beds
  • Sleeping on your face

These precautions protect the pigment and allow your skin to heal cleanly. Following aftercare instructions closely improves retention and ensures the best final result.

How Long Nano Brows Last

Nano brows typically last 1 to 3 years, depending on skin type, lifestyle and aftercare. Oily skin can fade pigment faster than dry skin. Sun exposure, exfoliating treatments and certain skincare ingredients (like retinol) can also fade the color more quickly.

Annual refreshers keep the brows vibrant and maintain the shape over time. Without touch-ups, the pigment will gradually lighten and fade.

Nano Brows at KRIDO Wellness

KRIDO offers three permanent brow techniques: nano brows, powder/ombré and combo brows. Nano brows are priced at $697. The final quote, including your touch-up plan, is confirmed at the consultation.

Amber Polacek, KRIDO’s permanent makeup specialist, performs all permanent makeup services. At the consultation, she assesses your natural brows, skin and face shape, maps your ideal brow shape, and chooses the technique with you. You see the shape and color before any pigment is used.

A topical numbing cream is applied before the procedure to keep you comfortable throughout. Most clients describe the sensation as light pressure or mild scratching.

Permanent makeup appointments require a $100 non-refundable deposit, applied to your treatment. The deposit can be moved once with 48 hours notice. Clients must be 18 years or older.

I had a consultation at Krido Wellness and it was an amazing experience from start to finish. Kristina, the owner, sat down with me beforehand to really talk through what I was looking for. She was so kind, thoughtful, and clearly knows her craft. I felt completely comfortable and confident walking out of there. I’m already booked to come back at the end of the month for permanent makeup and couldn’t be more excited. Highly recommend if you’re looking for someone who genuinely listens and cares about getting it right.

5/5 Stars. KRIDO Wellness is awesome. I’d recommend them for facials, fat reduction/skin tightening for your body or face, and even permanent make up. Kristina, the owner, is absolutely incredible and truly cares so much about KRIDO, her team, and her clients. Both women and men would be happy they checked out KRIDO Wellness in Downtown St Pete.
