About Lip Blush

Lip blush is permanent makeup for the lips. A soft wash of pigment evens out lip color and defines the lip line, so your lips look fresh and naturally tinted without lipstick.

It is a cosmetic tattoo, so it fades gradually over time. Every lip blush journey at KRIDO starts with a consultation with Amber, our permanent makeup artist.

Is it right for you?

Who it’s for

  • Pale, uneven or faded natural lip color
  • A lip line that has softened or is hard to see
  • Anyone who wants a natural tint instead of daily lipstick
  • Clients 18 or older

Your appointment

What happens in your session

  1. Consultation: Amber assesses your natural lip shape, tone and skin, maps your ideal lip line and chooses the technique and shade with you. Lip Blush, Ombré Lips and Full Lipstick Look are all options. You see the shape and color before any pigment is used.

  2. Treatment: a topical numbing cream keeps you comfortable. Most clients describe the feeling as light pressure or a mild scratching. Amber then layers pigment within the mapped shape.

  3. Perfecting session: about 5 to 6 weeks later, once your lips have healed, Amber refines the color and shape. In some cases extra sessions are needed; Amber confirms your plan at the consultation.

  4. If you are prone to cold sores, talk to your doctor before your appointment, as lip procedures can trigger a flare up. If you take blood thinners or any other medication, do not stop it on your own: talk to your doctor and tell us at the consultation.

What to expect

Results and how long they last

Right after treatment the color looks brighter and darker than the final result, and lips can feel dry or slightly swollen. That is normal. As the lips heal the color softens and settles, and it keeps settling over several weeks.

Permanent makeup fades over time, commonly within 1 to 3 years. Sun exposure and your skin type affect how quickly. A touch up to refresh the color is normal. Results vary with your skin, lifestyle and aftercare.

After your visit

Aftercare

  • Do not pick or peel flaking skin. Let it come away on its own.
  • Keep your lips clean and follow the balm routine Amber gives you.
  • Avoid heavy sweating, swimming and saunas for the first 7 to 14 days.
  • Protect healed lips from the sun with an SPF lip balm to help the color last.
