Turkey Neck Exercises: Do They Work? (And What Does)
Turkey neck exercises can strengthen the muscles underneath, but research shows they won’t tighten loose skin on their own. Here’s what actually works.
Do Turkey Neck Exercises Work?
Turkey neck exercises can strengthen the platysma muscle in your neck, but they will not tighten loose skin on their own. Research shows that exercise tones the muscle underneath, not the skin draped over it. If your concern is sagging skin or visible bands rather than muscle weakness, exercise alone will not change what you see in the mirror.
Loose skin under the chin and along the neck comes from aging, sun damage, weight changes and genetics. The skin loses collagen and elasticity over time. Building the muscle below can improve posture and definition to some degree, but it does not pull the skin tighter or smooth the surface.
What Causes Turkey Neck
The neck ages faster than many other areas because the skin is thin and constantly moving. Collagen and elastin break down. Fat can shift or disappear, leaving less support. Sun exposure speeds all of this. Weight loss, especially rapid weight loss, can leave skin that no longer fits the new shape.
Some people develop vertical platysmal bands, the cords that run from chin to collarbone. Those are the platysma muscle showing through thin skin. Exercises that engage the platysma may make the muscle firmer, but the bands often remain visible because the issue is skin laxity and muscle separation, not weakness.

What Works for Loose Neck Skin
If you want to tighten skin, you need treatments that work on the skin itself or the tissue just beneath it.
Surgical options include neck lift and liposuction. A neck lift removes excess skin and tightens what remains. Liposuction removes fat but does not tighten skin, so it works best when skin tone is still good. Both require anesthesia, incisions, downtime and recovery. Talk to a board-certified plastic surgeon.
Injectable treatments like Kybella can reduce fat under the chin. Kybella is FDA-approved and works by breaking down fat cells. It does not tighten skin. You need multiple sessions spaced weeks apart. A medical provider administers it. If loose skin is the main issue, Kybella will not solve it.
Energy-based treatments use heat or focused energy to stimulate collagen deep in the skin. Examples include Ultherapy, radiofrequency and some laser treatments. Results are moderate and take weeks to appear. Multiple sessions are common. These are medical procedures, so talk to a provider.
Non-invasive cooling treatments offer another approach. Cryo Face Sculpting at KRIDO Wellness uses controlled cold, and many clients notice less puffiness and better contour in the face and neck. It does not work like surgery or injectables. It is a cosmetic aesthetic technology, not a medical device. Many clients notice the neck and jawline look firmer and more defined after a series of sessions. Results vary.
How KRIDO Approaches Turkey Neck
Cryo Face Sculpting (what many people search for as a cryo facial) targets the face, neck and décolleté. The treatment applies gentle cold to the skin, which causes a temporary tightening and depuffing effect. It does not involve needles, downtime or anesthesia.
Every session at KRIDO follows a three-step protocol. First, the esthetician uses CryoSkin, the cold treatment, on the area. Next comes red light therapy. Research suggests red light may support collagen over time. Finally, manual lymphatic drainage massage can temporarily reduce puffiness.
The appointment takes about an hour. Most clients find it comfortable and relaxing. You walk out the same day with no restrictions.
Many clients notice the neck and jawline look lifted and less puffy after their first session. Many clients notice more change over a series of treatments. Each of our estheticians has 30 years of esthetics experience.
I’ve tried everything over the years to deal with facial puffiness and inflammation: gua sha, ice rollers, ice water, expensive serums. Some of it helped for a minute, but nothing lasted until I did the 5-pack of Cryo Face Sculpting at Krido Wellness. It’s genuinely the first thing that’s made a real difference. My face looks less puffy and more sculpted, and my confidence has followed right along with it. Kristina, the owner, is amazing. She clearly knows this field inside and out and took the time to actually explain the process instead of just running me through the motions. Amber, who did a few sessions, took such great care of me every time. Between the two of them, I always felt like I was in good hands. If you’ve dealt with puffiness and feel like you’ve tried everything already, I’d genuinely recommend giving Krido Wellness a shot.

Frequently asked questions
Can exercises tighten loose skin on the neck?
No. Exercises strengthen the muscle underneath, but they do not tighten loose skin. Skin laxity comes from lost collagen and elasticity, which exercise cannot restore. Treatments that work on the skin itself are needed.
What is the best treatment for turkey neck?
It depends on your goals and how much laxity you have. Surgery gives the most dramatic result. Non-invasive options like Cryo Face Sculpting can improve contour and reduce puffiness without downtime. A consultation helps you understand what will work for you.
Does Cryo Face Sculpting work on the neck?
Yes. Cryo Face Sculpting treats the face, neck and décolleté. Many clients notice the neck and jawline look firmer and more defined after a series of sessions. Results vary by individual.
How many sessions do I need?
Many clients notice more change over a series of treatments. Your esthetician will recommend a plan based on your goals and what they see at your consultation.
Is there any downtime?
No. You can return to your day right away. There are no restrictions after your session.
