CoolSculpting vs Liposuction: Which Is Right for You?
CoolSculpting and liposuction both reduce fat, but they work differently. One is surgery, one is not. Here is an honest comparison and where KRIDO fits.
CoolSculpting vs Liposuction: A Clear Comparison
CoolSculpting and liposuction both reduce stubborn fat in specific areas. The key difference: liposuction is surgery, CoolSculpting is not. Liposuction removes fat through incisions under anesthesia. CoolSculpting uses sustained controlled cooling to reduce fat cells in the treated area over several weeks, with no surgery and little downtime. Your choice depends on how much change you want, your tolerance for surgery and recovery time, and your budget.
This comparison looks at how each works, what results to expect, recovery, cost, and risks. Then we show where KRIDO’s non-invasive Cryo Body Sculpting fits for clients in St. Petersburg who want a needle-free option.
How Each Treatment Works
Liposuction is a surgical procedure. A surgeon makes small incisions, inserts a thin tube (cannula), and suctions out fat cells. It is performed under local or general anesthesia in an operating room or surgical center. The fat removed is permanent, meaning those specific fat cells do not return. However, gaining weight afterward can still change your shape in other areas or remaining fat cells.
CoolSculpting is an FDA-cleared non-invasive procedure (cryolipolysis). A device applies sustained, controlled cooling to the treatment area, typically with suction, for 35 to 60 minutes per area. The cold is designed to trigger fat cell reduction over several weeks. The body then processes the treated fat naturally. There are no incisions, no anesthesia, and you leave the same day. Results appear gradually over two to three months.
KRIDO’s Cryo Body Sculpting uses a different technology (CryoSkin). It applies alternating warmth and cold in short phases, without suction, as part of a session of about an hour. It is not the same as CoolSculpting and is not FDA-cleared. Evidence for this device is limited. KRIDO measures progress in inches: on average, clients notice 0.5 to 1 inch lost in the first session. Many clients see their best results over 5 to 10 sessions. Each session includes red light therapy and lymphatic drainage massage.

Who Each Option Suits
Liposuction suits people who want a larger amount of fat removed in one procedure and are comfortable with surgery, anesthesia and recovery time. It is performed by a plastic surgeon or cosmetic surgeon. If you are considering liposuction, talk to a board-certified surgeon about your health history, expectations and the risks.
CoolSculpting suits people who want a non-surgical option with proven FDA clearance and are willing to wait two to three months for gradual results. It works for pinchable fat in specific areas. It does not replace weight loss and is not suitable for loose skin. CoolSculpting is available at medical spas and dermatology clinics.
KRIDO Cryo Body Sculpting suits clients who want a non-invasive, no-downtime option to reduce stubborn fat and tighten skin in targeted areas. It is not surgery and not a replacement for significant fat removal. It works for refining shape and inches in areas that have not responded well to diet or exercise. Most plans run 5 to 10 sessions. Progress is tracked as you go, with measurements taken every session.
What a Visit at KRIDO Looks Like
You start with a consultation. We measure the area you want to treat, talk about your goals, and build a session plan. The consultation is part of your first paid appointment.
Each body sculpting session takes about an hour. We measure first, so progress is tracked in numbers. Then we perform the cryo treatment on one area at a time (abdomen, flanks, arms, thighs, underarms, glutes or breasts). You feel alternating warmth and cold; most clients find it comfortable and relaxing. After the cryo step, you receive red light therapy, which research suggests may support skin quality, and lymphatic drainage massage, which can temporarily reduce puffiness and fluid.
There is no downtime. You can return to your normal routine right away. As studio guidance, we ask you to avoid sugar for two hours before and after your session, and light movement afterward is encouraged.
Sessions are sold singly or in packages of 5 or 10. A single session is $299. A 5-pack is $1,300 ($260 per session). A 10-pack is $2,300 ($230 per session). Packages are valid for 12 months.

Frequently asked questions
Is CoolSculpting the same as what KRIDO offers?
No. CoolSculpting is an FDA-cleared cryolipolysis device using sustained cold with suction. KRIDO uses CryoSkin, a different technology with alternating warmth and cold and no suction. They are not the same treatment.
How much fat can liposuction remove compared to non-invasive treatments?
Liposuction can remove several pounds of fat in one session. CoolSculpting and cryo body sculpting reduce fat more gradually and modestly. They work for refining shape, not significant weight loss.
Does the fat come back after liposuction or CoolSculpting?
Liposuction permanently removes the fat cells suctioned out. CoolSculpting reduces fat cells in the treated area. However, gaining weight after either treatment can still change your shape in other areas or remaining fat.
How many KRIDO sessions equal one CoolSculpting or liposuction session?
There is no direct comparison. Liposuction removes more fat in one surgery. CoolSculpting typically takes one to two sessions per area. KRIDO clients usually need 5 to 10 sessions for their best results.
Can I do cryo body sculpting if I am considering liposuction later?
Many clients try a non-invasive option first. If you are planning surgery, tell your surgeon, and the team reviews your health history at the consultation. Some clients try non-invasive options first, then decide whether surgery is still needed.
