What Are Nano Brows? A Complete Guide to This Permanent Makeup Technique

Nano brows are a permanent makeup technique that uses ultra-fine needles to create crisp, natural hair-like strokes. The result mimics real brow hairs with precision.

What Are Nano Brows?

Nano brows are a permanent makeup technique that creates ultra-fine, hair-like strokes using a single needle. The pigment is implanted into the skin to mimic the appearance of individual brow hairs. This gives you natural-looking, defined brows that last one to three years.

The nano technique uses a digital machine with an extremely fine needle, smaller than microblading blades. This allows for sharper, more precise strokes. The result is crisp lines that look like real hair, even up close.

Nano brows suit clients who want a soft, realistic brow with visible hair-like detail. They work well on most skin types, including oily skin where microblading may blur over time.

How Nano Brows Work

Permanent makeup, also called cosmetic tattooing or micropigmentation, implants pigment into the upper layer of skin. At KRIDO, every permanent makeup service starts with a consultation. Amber, our permanent makeup expert, assesses your natural brows, skin and face shape. She maps your ideal brow shape and discusses technique options with you: Powder/Ombré, Combo or Nano Brows.

You see your shape and color before any pigment is used. Once you and Amber agree on the plan, she confirms your quote and session schedule. Most clients need one main session and one touch-up five to six weeks later. In some cases a neutralization is needed first, so one or more extra touch-up sessions may be required.

A topical numbing cream is applied before the procedure. Most clients describe the sensation as light pressure or a mild scratching feeling.

Nano Brows vs. Other Permanent Brow Techniques

KRIDO offers three permanent brow options:

TechniqueLookPrice
Nano BrowsUltra-fine hair strokes, most realistic$697
ComboHair strokes plus soft shading$597
Powder/OmbréSoft, filled-in makeup look$497

Nano brows give you the sharpest, most detailed hair strokes. Powder brows create a soft, filled-in look similar to brow powder or pomade. Combo brows blend both: hair strokes at the front, shading through the body and tail.

Amber helps you choose the technique that matches your goals, skin type and the fullness you want. The final quote, including your touch-up plan, is confirmed at the consultation.

What to Expect During Your Visit

You must be 18 or older for permanent makeup. Avoid alcohol, blood thinners like aspirin or fish oil, and excessive sun exposure for at least 48 hours before your appointment. Come with a clean face. Bring a reference photo if you have one.

Once you book your consultation, KRIDO calls you to confirm: just the consultation, or a treatment too. A $100 non-refundable deposit is required for permanent makeup appointments and is applied to your treatment.

The treated area may appear slightly darker or more intense in the first few days. This is normal. As your skin heals over 7 to 14 days, the color softens and settles into its true shade. Avoid picking, sweating heavily or getting the area wet during this time. Results typically last one to three years depending on skin type, lifestyle and aftercare. Annual refreshers are recommended to maintain vibrancy.

I had a consultation at Krido Wellness and it was an amazing experience from start to finish. Kristina, the owner, sat down with me beforehand to really talk through what I was looking for. She was so kind, thoughtful, and clearly knows her craft. I felt completely comfortable and confident walking out of there. I’m already booked to come back at the end of the month for permanent makeup and couldn’t be more excited. Highly recommend if you’re looking for someone who genuinely listens and cares about getting it right.

5/5 Stars. KRIDO Wellness is awesome. I’d recommend them for facials, fat reduction/skin tightening for your body or face, and even permanent make up. Kristina, the owner, is absolutely incredible and truly cares so much about KRIDO, her team, and her clients. Both women and men would be happy they checked out KRIDO Wellness in Downtown St Pete.

Who Nano Brows Are Best For

Nano brows suit clients who want the most natural, realistic brow. They work well if you have sparse brows, uneven growth or gaps. They are a good choice for oily skin, where softer techniques may blur over time.

If you prefer a bolder, filled-in look, powder or combo brows may suit you better. Amber walks through your options at the consultation.

Permanent makeup may not be suitable for everyone. The intake process covers your health history, medications and skin conditions. Pregnant or breastfeeding clients, anyone with active skin infections or open wounds in the treatment area, and certain other conditions may need to wait or choose a different service.

Frequently asked questions

How long do nano brows last?

Nano brows typically last one to three years depending on your skin type, lifestyle and aftercare. Annual refreshers help maintain vibrancy. Results are semi-permanent and fade naturally over time.

Are nano brows better than microblading?

Nano brows use a digital machine with a finer needle, creating sharper, more precise strokes than microblading. They tend to hold better on oily skin. The best choice depends on your skin type and the look you want.

Does nano brow tattooing hurt?

Most clients experience minimal discomfort. A topical numbing cream is applied before the procedure. Sensitivity varies by person, but most describe the sensation as light pressure or mild scratching.

How long does nano brow healing take?

The treated area heals over 7 to 14 days. The color appears darker at first, then softens and settles into its true shade. Avoid picking, heavy sweating or getting the area wet during healing.

Will I need a touch-up for nano brows?

Yes. Most clients need one main session and one touch-up, usually scheduled five to six weeks after the initial appointment. This perfects the shape and fills in any areas where pigment did not fully retain.

How much do nano brows cost at KRIDO?

Nano brows are $697. The final quote, including your touch-up plan, is confirmed at your consultation with Amber. A $100 non-refundable deposit is required and is applied to your treatment.
