Loose Skin After Weight Loss: Arms

Lost weight and left with loose skin on your arms? Cryo Body Sculpting is designed to reduce stubborn fat and help tighten skin in the upper arms, with no downtime.

Loose Skin on Your Arms After Weight Loss

You lost the weight. The number on the scale dropped. But your arms still look soft, loose or undefined. That extra skin and stubborn pinchable fat in the upper arms and underarms are common after weight loss, especially rapid loss. You are not alone, and there are options that do not involve surgery.

Why Loose Skin Happens After Weight Loss

When you lose a lot of weight quickly, your skin does not always shrink at the same pace. Skin stretches to hold extra volume, and collagen and elastin, the proteins that give skin its snap, can lose strength over time or with age. Rapid weight loss, including on GLP-1 medications such as semaglutide, can reduce fat volume so fast that the skin is left behind looking looser or thinner. The change comes from the speed of fat loss, not damage to the skin itself.

Exercise helps. Strength training tones the muscle underneath your arm and can improve the shape. But research mostly shows that exercise cannot burn fat from one chosen spot. You cannot selectively tighten just the arms through movement alone. The stubborn pinchable fat and loose skin in the upper arms and underarms often stay, even when your overall fitness improves.

Your Options

You have three main paths.

Surgery. Brachioplasty, or an arm lift, removes excess skin and fat through an incision along the underside or back of the arm. Results are dramatic and permanent for skin removal, but it is surgery. There is a scar, downtime, anesthesia and recovery. Talk to a board-certified plastic surgeon if you are considering this route.

Skin tightening treatments. Non-invasive devices that use heat, radiofrequency or cold may help tighten mild to moderate skin laxity and reduce fat in targeted areas. Results are gradual and work best when the skin still has some elasticity. Most treatments require a series of sessions.

Do nothing. Loose skin is not a medical problem. Many people choose to live with it, focus on what their body can do, and let the aesthetic change go. That is a valid choice.

How KRIDO Approaches Loose Skin and Stubborn Fat on the Arms

At KRIDO Wellness in downtown St. Petersburg, we offer Cryo Body Sculpting for the upper arms and underarms. This treatment combines controlled cooling, red light therapy and manual lymphatic drainage in one session. It is designed to reduce stubborn, pinchable fat and help tighten skin in the treated area. It is not surgery. There is no downtime.

Each session begins with measurements. We track your progress in inches, not guesses. Then the cryo treatment is applied to the arms. Red light therapy follows. Research suggests it may support collagen and skin quality. We finish with lymphatic drainage massage, which can temporarily reduce puffiness and fluid.

The treatment is non-invasive and takes about an hour. You feel alternating warmth and cold. Most clients find it comfortable and relaxing. You can return to your normal day right after.

Many clients notice tighter, smoother arms after the first session. For more refined results, we typically recommend a series of 5 to 10 sessions. Your plan will be personalized at the consultation based on your arms, your skin and your goals.

A single session is $299. A 5-pack is $1,300 and a 10-pack is $2,300. Packages are valid for 12 months.

After debating for a few years to book a treatment like abdominal cryotherapy, I am so unbelievably happy that I chose KRIDO and Amber! She is so informational, trustworthy and talented. My results are everything I hoped for & I will absolutely be back for more.

What to Expect at Your First Visit

You start with a consultation. One of our estheticians, each with 30 years of esthetics experience, will look at your arms, talk through what you want to change, and build a treatment plan with you. If you are ready, your first body sculpting session happens the same day. The consultation is included. You pay for the session.

We take measurements before and after each treatment so you can see the change in numbers. Progress photos are also taken for body sculpting. Results depend on the treatment area, the number of sessions and how your body responds. Individual results vary.

As studio guidance, we ask you to avoid sugars and highly processed fats for at least 2 hours before your session, and avoid sugars and refined carbohydrates for 2 hours after. Light movement such as walking after your session is encouraged.

KRIDO Wellness is awesome. I’d recommend them for facials, fat reduction/skin tightening for your body or face, and even permanent make up. Kristina, the owner, is absolutely incredible and truly cares so much about KRIDO, her team, and her clients. Both women and men would be happy they checked out KRIDO Wellness in Downtown St Pete.

Who This Treatment Is For

Cryo Body Sculpting is designed for stubborn fat and loose skin in areas that do not respond well to diet or exercise. It is ideal if you want precise shaping and refinement in the arms, not dramatic weight loss across your whole body. This is body sculpting, not a weight loss program.

The treatment is not suitable for everyone. Conditions that may make it inappropriate include pregnancy or breastfeeding, cold sensitivity disorders such as Raynaud’s, cardiovascular conditions, uncontrolled diabetes, active skin infections or open wounds in the treatment area, and certain medications. The team reviews your health history at the consultation. You must be at least 18 years old.

Frequently asked questions

Can exercise tighten loose skin on my arms after weight loss?

Exercise strengthens the muscle underneath and improves shape, but research mostly shows it cannot burn fat from one spot or tighten loose skin on its own. Strength training helps, but stubborn fat and loose skin often remain.

How many Cryo Body Sculpting sessions will I need for my arms?

Many clients notice change after the first session. For more noticeable results, we typically recommend 5 to 10 sessions. Your plan is personalized at the consultation.

Does Cryo Body Sculpting hurt?

No. You feel alternating warmth and cold. Most clients find it comfortable and relaxing. The treatment is non-invasive and there is no downtime. You can return to your normal day right after.

How is this different from an arm lift surgery?

Brachioplasty removes excess skin surgically and leaves a scar. Cryo Body Sculpting is non-invasive, uses controlled cooling, is designed to reduce fat and help tighten skin, and has no downtime. It works best for moderate skin laxity.

Will the fat come back after treatment?

Results depend on maintaining a stable weight and following the aftercare guidance. Cryo Body Sculpting is designed to reduce stubborn fat in the treated area, and there is little research on how long results last. Weight gain after treatment can still change your shape.
