Can You Use Microdermabrasion on Sensitive Skin?

Microdermabrasion can work on sensitive skin when done carefully, with the right technique and setting. The key is customization.

Can You Use Microdermabrasion on Sensitive Skin?

Yes, microdermabrasion can work on sensitive skin when done carefully. The treatment is mechanical exfoliation that removes dead surface skin cells. The key is customization. Pressure, speed and the number of passes over each area can all be adjusted based on how your skin responds.

If you have sensitive skin, redness, rosacea or active inflammation, a gentler facial may be a better first step. Microdermabrasion is not recommended during a flare-up or when your skin is irritated. Talk to your esthetician about what your skin can tolerate.

What Microdermabrasion Does

Microdermabrasion gently exfoliates the surface layer of your skin. It improves texture and tone and leaves your complexion looking brighter. Results are immediate but temporary. For deeper concerns like scars or wrinkles, other treatments work better.

The treatment does not hurt. Most people feel a light scratching or brushing sensation. Redness can happen right after, especially on sensitive skin, and it usually fades within a few hours.

How KRIDO Customizes Microdermabrasion for Sensitive Skin

At KRIDO Wellness, every facial starts with a consultation. We read your skin, talk about what you want, and choose the right approach. If your skin is sensitive, we adjust pressure and technique to keep irritation low.

Every microdermabrasion facial at KRIDO includes red light therapy and lymphatic drainage massage. Research suggests red light may support collagen. Lymphatic drainage can temporarily reduce puffiness.

The microdermabrasion facial is $150. We also offer other facials designed for sensitive skin, including the Gentle Facial, Teens ($115), the Rosacea & Acne Facial ($125), and the Express Facial ($65). Your esthetician will help you choose.

What to Expect at Your Visit

You start with a skin consultation. We look at your skin type, concerns and goals. Every visit starts with a consultation where we look at your goals and build your plan. You pay for the facial.

During the treatment, the esthetician uses a device to gently buff the skin. After exfoliation, we apply a mask and serums chosen for your skin. Then you finish with red light therapy and lymphatic drainage.

Many clients notice smoother, brighter skin and a glow right away. For ongoing concerns like uneven texture or mild pigmentation, regular facials every 4 to 6 weeks help maintain results. For sensitive skin working on specific issues, we may recommend every 2 weeks for a period of time.
