Microdermabrasion for Scars: What It Can and Cannot Do
Microdermabrasion smooths texture and brightens skin, but it does not remove deep or atrophic scars. For acne scars, microneedling is a better choice.
Can Microdermabrasion Remove Scars?
Microdermabrasion gently exfoliates the surface of your skin. It can improve texture and brighten your complexion, but it cannot remove deep scars. If you have atrophic acne scars (the indented kind), microdermabrasion will not fill them in or make them disappear.
The treatment works by removing dead skin cells from the outermost layer. This can soften very shallow surface marks and even out tone. For deeper scars, you need a treatment that stimulates collagen below the surface.
What Microdermabrasion Can Do
Microdermabrasion can help with:
- Smoothing rough texture
- Brightening dull skin
- Evening out mild discoloration
- Softening very shallow surface marks
- Improving the overall glow of your skin
Many clients notice smoother, more radiant skin after a single session. Results are mild and temporary. The treatment does not cause downtime.

What Microdermabrasion Cannot Do
Microdermabrasion does not:
- Remove deep acne scars
- Fill in atrophic (indented) scars
- Treat raised or keloid scars
- Erase wrinkles or deep lines
For these concerns, talk to a medical provider about options like laser resurfacing, dermal fillers or prescription treatments. Microdermabrasion is not a medical procedure.
What Does Work for Acne Scars?
Microneedling is supported by research for atrophic acne scars. It creates controlled micro-injuries that stimulate your skin to produce collagen. Over a series of sessions, many people see smoother, firmer skin with less noticeable scarring.
At KRIDO Wellness, we offer microneedling facials. The treatment is results-driven and ideal for fine lines, acne scars, enlarged pores, uneven texture and discoloration. Results can build with a series of treatments.
You start with a consultation. We read your skin, talk about your goals, and recommend the right treatment. The consultation is part of your first visit. You pay for the facial.
Microdermabrasion at KRIDO Wellness
Our Microdermabrasion Facial is $150. It is a refining, skin-smoothing treatment that gently exfoliates to reveal a brighter, more radiant complexion. Ideal for clients who want to improve skin texture, tone and overall glow with a non-invasive, refreshing facial.
Every facial at KRIDO includes red light therapy and lymphatic drainage massage. Research suggests red light may support collagen, and lymphatic drainage can temporarily reduce puffiness. We work exclusively with Circadia, a professional-grade skincare line used by licensed estheticians and medical spas.
For best results, we generally recommend a facial every four to six weeks, which aligns with your skin’s natural renewal cycle.
I had an amazing experience at KRIDO and I can’t wait to go back for more! Their space is beautiful and Amber is is very knowledgeable. This will be my new go to spot for facials!
Jennifer Allen, Google review
What a great experience! This was my first facial ever. Being a guy I wasn’t sure what to expect. I was welcomed by Kristina and Amber. Very nice and professional. They both went over their services and did a great job explaining what everything meant. As for the facial. It was amazing. Super relaxing. Did a skin test to be able to tell me what I could be doing to help promote healthy skin and prevent aging. Super knowledgeable. The different gels felt great they even said I had pretty good skin. Who would have thought. Then to top it off I got a little preview of cryo therapy to help shape my face and body. Very cool tech. Overall 10 out of 10. I’d say I’m glowing
