How to Lose Back Fat: Non-Invasive Options and What Works

Back fat is stubborn because it often resists diet and exercise alone. Cryo Body Sculpting offers a non-invasive option to reduce pinchable fat and tighten skin in targeted areas, with no downtime.

Can you lose back fat with exercise and diet?

Research mostly shows that exercise cannot burn fat from one chosen spot. Fat loss happens across your whole body, not just where you work the muscle. That said, exercise strengthens and tones the muscles underneath, which can improve how the area looks. A consistent strength and cardio routine, paired with a balanced diet, helps reduce overall body fat. For many people, the back is one of the last places to change.

Back fat gathers for a few reasons: genetics, hormones, overall body composition, and where your body prefers to store fat. Some people carry more fat in the mid back, others around the bra line or lower back. Building the muscles in your back (rows, pull-ups, lat pulldowns) can create a firmer shape, but the fat layer on top will only shrink if your total body fat drops.

Non-invasive options: cryo body sculpting

If diet and exercise have not changed your back fat, non-invasive body sculpting may help. Cryo Body Sculpting uses controlled cooling and is designed for stubborn, pinchable fat in specific areas like the back, flanks, abdomen, arms and thighs. The treatment is designed to reduce fat and tighten skin, with no surgery and no downtime.

Each session at KRIDO Wellness follows a three-step sequence: controlled cooling, red light therapy, and manual lymphatic drainage massage. The cooling step is designed to reduce stubborn fat. Research suggests red light may support collagen and skin quality. Lymphatic drainage can temporarily reduce puffiness and fluid. The full appointment takes about an hour, and you can return to your normal routine right after.

Most clients see their best results over a course of 5 to 10 sessions. Many notice a visible change after the first session. On average, clients lose 0.5 to 1 inch in the first session. Results vary, and they build with each treatment. KRIDO tracks progress with measurements taken before and after every body sculpting session, so changes are recorded in inches, not guesses.

After debating for a few years to book a treatment like abdominal cryotherapy, I am so unbelievably happy that I chose KRIDO and Amber! She is so informational, trustworthy and talented. My results are everything I hoped for & I will absolutely be back for more. Rebecca Duncan, Google review

This is body sculpting, not weight loss. The treatments focus on shape, inches and skin quality. Many clients feel leaner and more defined even when their weight stays the same.

How cryo body sculpting works

The session begins with measurements. Your esthetician applies the CryoSkin device to the treatment area, using alternating warmth and cold. Most clients find it comfortable and relaxing. After the cooling phase, you receive red light therapy, which research suggests may support collagen, followed by lymphatic drainage massage, which can temporarily reduce puffiness and fluid.

For best results, avoid sugars and highly processed fats for at least 2 hours before your session, and avoid sugars and refined carbohydrates for 2 hours after. This is KRIDO’s own studio guidance. Light movement like walking after your session is encouraged.

Each of our estheticians has 30 years of esthetics experience. Your consultation is with one of our estheticians who performs this treatment, so your plan comes from someone who knows the work.

Surgical and medical options

Liposuction removes fat permanently from the treated area through surgery. It requires anesthesia, incisions, and recovery time. Weight gain after liposuction can still change your shape, but the fat cells removed do not come back. If you are considering surgery, talk to a board-certified plastic surgeon.

Kybella is an FDA-approved injectable that targets fat under the chin. It is a prescription drug given by a medical provider. It is not approved for back fat.

CoolSculpting is a different technology from what KRIDO uses. It is an FDA-cleared device that uses sustained suction and cooling (cryolipolysis) over 35 to 60 minutes per area. It is a medical device with peer-reviewed research showing fat layer reduction. CryoSkin, the device KRIDO uses, applies short alternating warm and cold phases with no suction. Evidence for CryoSkin is limited to a small manufacturer-sponsored study, and results vary. KRIDO’s approach is a cosmetic aesthetic treatment, not a medical procedure.

What to expect at KRIDO Wellness

Your first visit starts with a consultation. The esthetician measures the area, looks at your goals, and recommends a treatment plan with the number of sessions and the price. The consultation is included with your first body sculpting session.

Body sculpting sessions are $299 each. Packages of 5 sessions are $1,300 ($260 per session), and 10 sessions are $2,300 ($230 per session). Packages are valid for 12 months. Most plans run 5 to 10 sessions.

Is cryo body sculpting right for you?

Cryo Body Sculpting works best for people who want to refine and sculpt targeted areas, not lose large amounts of weight. It is designed for stubborn, pinchable fat that does not respond well to diet or exercise. The treatment is non-invasive, with no downtime. You can return to your normal activities right after.

The treatments are not suitable for everyone. Conditions that may make cryo body sculpting inappropriate include pregnancy or breastfeeding, cold sensitivity disorders such as Raynaud’s, cardiovascular conditions, uncontrolled diabetes, active skin infections or open wounds in the treatment area, and certain medications. The team reviews your health history at your consultation. You must be at least 18 years of age.
