Every permanent makeup appointment starts with a consultation. Amber looks at your skin and facial features, then maps placement, size and shade with you. You see exactly what the freckles will look like before any pigment is used.

The final quote is set at the consultation. Typical faux freckles start at $150, depending on the number of freckles and the area covered. Once you book, the studio calls you to confirm whether you want just the consultation or a treatment the same day.

You must be 18 or older for permanent makeup. A $100 deposit is required to hold your treatment appointment and is applied to your final price.

How Many Sessions You Will Need

Most clients need one main session and one touch-up five to six weeks later. The touch-up allows Amber to fill in any areas where pigment did not fully retain and to adjust the pattern or shade if needed. In some cases, more than two sessions are needed. Amber confirms your session plan at the consultation.

Annual refreshers help maintain vibrancy as the pigment fades naturally over time.

Healing and Aftercare

The faux freckles will appear slightly darker in the first few days. As your skin heals over 7 to 14 days, the color softens and settles into its true shade.

Avoid picking, sweating heavily or getting the area wet during the healing period. Do not use makeup or skincare products on the treated area until healing is complete. Amber gives you detailed aftercare instructions at your appointment.

Results typically last one to three years, depending on your skin type, lifestyle and how well you follow aftercare.

Preparing for Your Appointment

Avoid alcohol, blood thinners like aspirin or fish oil, and excessive sun exposure for at least 48 hours before your appointment. Come with a clean face. If you have a reference photo of the freckle pattern you like, bring it along.

The studio reviews your health history at the consultation. Permanent makeup may not be suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or if you have active skin infections, uncontrolled diabetes or certain other conditions.
