How Long Does a Lash Lift Last? What to Expect
A lash lift usually lasts up to six to eight weeks, fading gradually as your natural lashes shed and new ones grow in straight.
How Long a Lash Lift Lasts
A lash lift usually lasts up to six to eight weeks. The curl does not wear off on a set day. It fades gradually as your natural lashes shed and new, uncurled lashes grow in to replace them. How long yours holds depends on your lash growth cycle and how you care for the lashes in the first couple of days.
A lift curls your own lashes from the base, so they look longer and more open without mascara or extensions. At KRIDO it is paired with a tint, which darkens the lashes for extra definition.
Why a Lash Lift Fades
Every lash has its own life cycle. At any moment some lashes are growing, some are resting and some are about to fall out. Each one lives for a few months, and you naturally shed a few every day.
The lift only changes the lashes you have on the day of your appointment. Over the following weeks those lashes shed and new ones grow in at their natural angle. Around week six, enough new lashes have come through that the overall look starts to soften. That is usually when people rebook.

What Helps a Lash Lift Last
- Keep lashes dry for the first 24 to 48 hours. Water, steam and sweat can relax the curl before it has fully set.
- Skip mascara for the first day or two. After that, a water based formula is gentler than waterproof mascara, which needs more rubbing to remove.
- Avoid oil based removers on the lashes. Oil can loosen the set over time.
- Do not use a lash curler. The lift already does the curling, and a curler can kink or break lifted lashes.
- Sleep on your back if you can, at least for the first night.
- Brush lashes gently with a clean spoolie in the morning.
Our lash lift aftercare guide covers the first days in more detail.
What Can Shorten a Lash Lift
- Getting the lashes wet or steamy straight after the appointment.
- Rubbing your eyes, especially while removing makeup.
- Very straight or very short lashes, which can be harder to hold in a curl. See lash lift on short lashes.
- Natural shedding that is faster for some people than others.
How Often to Get a Lash Lift
Most people rebook every six to eight weeks, once the curl has softened. Leaving at least that long between lifts gives the lashes a rest. Lifting again while most of the previous curl is still there can over process them.
The tint fades on a similar timeline, which is one reason the two are done together.
